Land Steward
Purpose:
Maintaining safety, usability and environmental health throughout the land, with main emphasis on Heartland.Accountabilities:
- Identifying and clearing hazards on land
- Restoring land disturbed by development in coordination with @Forest Steward and @Landscape Care and Design
- Gathering information on the land to maintain and update land use policies and practices in coordination with @Forest Steward, @Westgarden Steward and @Landscape Care and Design
- Identifying opportunities for volunteers on the land and communicating with @Volunteer Engagement
- Communicating best practices for land management to volunteers and team members
- Soliciting bids and hiring contractors for land-related work in coordination with @Landscape Care and Design and @Forest Steward
- Facilitating trail usage through educating users and stocking maps at trailhead
- Mowing the lawns

Landscape Care and Design
Purpose:
Ensure landscapes remain cared for with an eye for design, ecological health, and beautificationAccountabilities:
- Maintaining landscape with @Land Steward by weed whacking, hand weeding, collecting debris, planting and other activities as needed to maintain and/or enhance aesthetic of Heartland
- Supporting other land and facilities projects as appropriate with @Facilities Steward, @Land Steward and @Forest Steward
- Clearing debris away from the perimeters of buildings
- Maintaining trails accessibility in collaboration with @Forest Steward
- Envisioning and strategizing for design implementation and management of outdoor spaces
- Caring for Westgarden in collaboration with @Westgarden Steward and @Land Steward
- Communicating to relevant role holders management protocols for appropriate landscape maintenance
- Supporting forest stewardship activities in collaboration with @Forest Steward
