    Students for Sensible Drug Policy identify harmful drug policies and reform them toward education, justice, and safety

    Accountabilities:

    • Advising members to identify, plan, and implement policy change campaigns
    • Connecting members to the U.S. Policy Council as relevant
    • Maintaining records on campaigns and their statuses
    • Encouraging our members to testify at local hearings and participate in local electoral politics
    • Encouraging our members to engage with community-based coalitions to strengthen existing reform movements in their communities
  • Care Package and Store Order Distributor

    Purpose:

    We will ensure that our chapters receive high-quality materials for training, marketing, and recruitment purposes

    Domains:

    Accountabilities:

    • Processing care package and store requests in a timely manner
    • Tracking & replenishing of USPS shipping materials
    • Communicating needed supplies/materials and low stock to Administrative and Office Assistant in a timely manner (usually 2-3 weeks before it is needed)
    • Soliciting and including external resources necessary for care packages
    • Sending spending requests to MBEA Lead Link prior to putting in a request with Administrative and Office Assistant
  • Chapter Building Coach

    Purpose:

    Members will receive support while establishing their SSDP chapter

    • New Chapters and NMIs

    Accountabilities:

    • Coaching members through the process of establishing an official SSDP chapter
    • Coaching members and assisting them with developing a recruitment plan to find students to start a chapter of SSDP
    • Setting up online assets for established chapters (CAT login, web page)
    • Developing relationships with individual leaders and members, based on strong bonds of shared experience and desired outcome (end of drug prohibition and mass incarceration).

    Purpose:

    We capture our activities, successes, and progress in service of organizational development

    Accountabilities:

    • Contributing to the development of annual objectives, tracking said objectives related to programs and outreach, and completing a quarterly analysis of our performance in striving to meet them.
    • Analyzing progress on objectives to see where we are succeeding and where we are falling short.
    • Maintaining accurate data on chapters in both the master list and in EveryAction
    • Maintaining accurate record keeping of governance documents related to chapters (chapter agreement)
    • Requesting rosters and preparing them for @EveryAction Administrator.
    • Compiling photos and videos created by our members into appropriate Google Drive folders
  • Event Organizer & Promoter

    Purpose:

    Events hosted by SSDP staff and members are well executed and promoted.

    Accountabilities:

    • Working with members to plan & execute events relevant to work SSDP members are doing on and off campus
    • Promoting relevant events to the SSDP network, and SSDP events to our allies/the public
    • Assisting members with the planning and execution of regional events, which includes support for program development, fundraising, and promotion

    Purpose:

    We provide our members with meaningful support and guidance

    Accountabilities:

    • Identifying and supporting existing drug policy passions in order to tailor SSDP experience
    • Providing support and guidance for members throughout their involvement by offering myself as a resource whenever they need one
    • Using my own networks and connections to provide a bridge for students between their community and the greater drug policy reform movement
    • Directing SSDPers to the Alumni Mentorship Program
    • Advising members to identify and build coalitions with decision-makers in student government, administration, elected officials, regulators, and organizations while maintaining relationships through member transitions

    SSDP members will be equipped with the most relevant and useful content to their work

    Accountabilities:

    • Revising materials published on the website, with member input
    • Creating resources as required for the network
    • Responding to timely opportunities to develop resources around time-sensitive campaigns
    • Working with allies to develop shared content that can be used across multiple platforms
    • Developing trainings as requested by the network
