Every new team member goes through a formal commitment process to continued membership, or not, with August, 90 days after their start date using the following process:

FOUR WEEKS OUT
Team member decides and communicates who their 90 day advocate will be. It could be their onboarding buddy, or anyone else that has been at August for more than 90 days.

TWO WEEKS OUT
(People do this on their own, not a discussion, only reflection)

90 Day Advocate: sends out reflection and survey to the following →
Team member: survey and reflection
Gustos from teams that the team member has been a part of within the last 90 days: full feedback survey
All other Gustos: answer “Should August commit to continuing our working relationship with this team member?”

ONE WEEK OUT
Team member: decides on makeup of feedback session team (3-5 people) with their 90 day advocate. Including who will facilitate the session, which will be a non-contributing member of the session
-Team member can choose from the following: onboarding buddy, client team, non-client team members
-Strategy: Look for advocates, core part of why team member enjoy working at August.
-Have at least one longer-tenured person (at least 1 year of working at August)
-Have at least one client team member
-Have at least one higher capacity member
-If gustos have strong feedback around person not being the right fit, check with 90 day advocate, feedback should be discussed prior to the session with team member.
-90 Day Advocate: puts session on calendar within two weeks of team member’s 90 day
-90 Day Advocate: all feedback is collected. Advocate can tap members to be more specific about positive and constructive feedback if necessary, and synthesizes all the information.

24 HOURS OUT
90 Day Advocate shares the survey data with team member and people in feedback session. You are asked to read the feedback prior to the session.

90 DAY COMMITMENT SESSION (90-120mins)

:10 - :15 Run through this agenda, confirm that everyone has read through the reflections/feedback
:15 - 1:15 Walkthrough and talk about reflections & feedback

Dialogue:
Round: What has it been like to work with team member? Initial thoughts on August committing or not.
Open dialogue: Dig into specific feedback points to clarify understanding on both sides.
1:15 - 1:45 Create clear next steps (including commitment or no commitment)
Could include - a goal setting conversation, a level setting conversation
OR - Exit strategy from August and follow up conversations
1:45 - 2:00 Closing Round
