    Purpose:

    Within the Super-Circle, the Rep Link holds the Purpose of the Sub-Circle; within the Sub-Circle, the Rep Link’s Purpose is: Tensions relevant to process in the Super-Circle channeled out and resolved.

    Accountabilities:

    • Providing visibility to the Super-Circle into the health of the Sub-Circle, including reporting on any metrics or checklist items assigned to the whole Sub-Circle
    • Removing constraints within the broader Organization that limit the Sub-Circle
    • Seeking to understand Tensions conveyed by Sub-Circle Circle Members, and discerning those appropriate to process in the Super-Circle

Research

Purpose: Learn about key topics (e.g. plastic recycling process & technologies, marketing, awareness rising, training, current-sees, community gathering, self-management etc) so that SHIPO and each of its programs gains trustworthy information to achieve their purpose

    Purpose:

    Making BE acquire the knowledge to implement current-see systems that let us work collaboratively

    Accountabilities:

    • Researching and learning about internal accounting systems that move us closer to an open value network
    • Researching and learning about complementary currencies and tokens
    • Contacting experts on these fields that help us to learn and implement
    • Researching and learning about what incentives can make the agents we wish participate in BE
    • Testing different current-see systems in Njombe

    Purpose:

    We have the knowledge and experience to design a processes that fulfill our requirements

    Accountabilities:

    • Gathering and recording information on machines, tools, molds, workshop recycling process and plot activities
    • Researching, experimenting, monitoring and learning about the machine fabrication and improvements
    • Researching, experimenting, monitoring and learning about the recycling process and plot activities
    • Sharing learnings with @Workshop care taker
    • Working together with the designers to ensure the moulds can be used and satisfy our specs
    • Defining the specs of the moulds we require, taking into account our mould production and recycling techniques
    • Reducing energy consumption in workshop and plot
    • Researching how to use renewable energy in our projects
    • Researching how to repair whatever @workshop caretaker and plot care taker cannot repair
    • Running SMART experiments e.g. biogas

    Purpose:

    Get to know the community around us: traditions, power dynamics, needs, worries, commons based activities, etc.

    Accountabilities:

    • Researching communities, organisations, institutions in our surrounding
    • Documenting learnings
    • Providing information related to social and human behaviours as requested by other roles
    • Finding audiovisual materials, games and other resources that can be used to engage and mobilize communities

    Purpose:

    Steward and stabilize the Circle’s formal records and record-keeping process.

    Domains:

    • All constitutionally-required records of the Circle

    Accountabilities:

    • Capturing and publishing the outputs of the Circle’s required meetings, and maintaining a compiled view of the Circle’s current Governance, checklist items, and metrics
    • Interpreting Governance and the Constitution upon request
    • Scheduling the Circle’s required meetings, and notifying all Core Circle Members of scheduled times and locations

    for SHIPO office

    Purpose:

    Characterise the waste streams of a system to and design plans to implement zero-waste solutions (e.g. plastic flow in Njombe, waste at SHIPO office)

    Accountabilities:

    • Characterising the waste in Njombe
    • Researching plastic demand in Njombe
    • Researching what polymer type similar projects have recycled
    • Researching and experimenting processes to get the polymer types we require, in the conditions we require
    • Looking for plastic input opportunities if requested by @Workshop care taker
    • Making sure we collect the recyclable plastic materials (e.g. plastic caps) from the people renting SHIPO Hall (preferably letting them know what and why we are doing so)
    • Preparing MFA models
    • Obtaining data about waste and inputs to feed to MFA models
    • Researching regenerative options to handle waste and to avoid waste generation

IKI

Purpose: Create the conditions (awareness, knowledge, technology and economic incentives) and coordinate and mobilise key societal sectors in Njombe rural and town councils (government, civil society and private sector) to implement climate mitigation and adaptation activities that are fit to the local context

    Purpose:

    Increase the uptake of technologies that are climate smart among local stakeholders

    Accountabilities:

    • Presenting the technological and business part of IKI project in events and fairs
    • Supporting businesses, industries, organisations, farmers and government authorities on the development and implementation of climate friendly initiatives
    • Preparing the content of Terms of Reference
    • Establishing the criteria for selection of the consultants for the pilots
    • Implementing zero waste plans in SHIPO Office
    • Identifying, co-developing and documenting areas of collaboration with artisans, industries, businesses, makers, farmers and others within Tech&Buss sectors
    • Selecting the consultants for the pilots
    • Working closely with the Consultants and making sure their plans and directions and executed
    • Presenting the Fab City component to artisans and makers
